Nicola Congdon and her mother Ann from Cornwall, England, are making headlines by knitting sweaters for hens that have been sheltered by them.
These hens have been rescued from battery farms - which rear them in highly constricted cages. The birds typically get culled after a lifetime of laying eggs.
Nicola and Ann own 60 of these battery hens. They noticed that many had lost feathers and were poorly prepared to face the harsh winter. So, they got the idea of knitting them warm jumpers.
They are also getting calls from others who are asking for similar sweaters.
