Miami school students Himanish Ashar and and Dhvani Shah have replaced their hit Slap Aamir site with Kiss Aamir.
If you type www.SlapAamir.com, you now get redirected to www.KissAamir.com now? So, what brought about the change.
The students say it was never their intention to spread hatred against Aamir Khan by encouraging people to slap him. They just wanted to "mock the ongoing controversy" over Aamir's statement.
They decided to create the www.SlapAamir.com after Shiv Sena offered a lakh of rupees to anyone who could slap Aamir Khan. The Bollywood actor had caused outrage in right-wing circles with his comments on intolerance.
But instead of spreading humour they found that www.SlapAamir.com was spreading hatred.
Bhakts took it as a chance to deliver endless slaps and www.SlapAamir.com recorded over 8 million slaps in 15 hours before it was taken down.
“While many understood, others who were not able to see the subtle humour and message in the campaign, just enjoyed virtually slapping 'Aamir',” Himanshu told The Week.
So, they quickly moved to on to launch the phase 2 of their project and launched www.KissAamir.com.
