BJP leader Chandan Mitra came down strongly on Twitterati, ironically on the supporters of his own party, dismissing their opinion as of no consequence.
"I state absolutely and categorically that no policy can be framed on the basis of Twitterati," he said.
Chandan Mitra was responding to a question posed by NDTV's Barka Dutt on playing cricket with Pakistan. She had contended that the government had second thoughts on resuming cricketing ties with Pakistan after the decision was hammered on Twitter.
He went on to describe Twitterati as hyperbolic at times. Most controversially, Chandan Mitra, described Twitterati as people, who had nothing better to do, but still expressed their opinion on various subjects.
