Viral Video: Enchanting footage of diver swimming at Silfra - between American and European continental plates

It shows a diver touching both European and American side of the plates in crystal clear water.   Silfra is considered a top diving site as it offers amazing visibility, which is estimated between 70–80 meters.  The formation of Silfra underwater valley is a consequence of the tectonic drift of the Eurasian and the North American plates. Every year, the plates drift about 2 cm further apart, causing periodic earthquakes.
Silfra, listed among 50 top diving sites of the world, is located at Iceland's Thingvellir Lake. (Video below)

A video of a diver swimming between North American and Eurasian continental plates at  Silfra has gone viral.

Silfra, listed among 50 top diving sites of the world, is located at Iceland's Thingvellir Lake.

Though it is popular on the tourist circuit and many similar videos are available, a recent diving footage, which was posted on scientist Hashem Al-Ghaili's Facebook page, went viral.

It shows a diver touching both European and American side of the plates in crystal clear water.
