The account suggested that it was releasing the photos to refute the claims of Indian media that there were very Indians in ISIS.

Indian Express reported that Fahad Shaikh, the Thane Youth who went to join ISIS last year with three of his friends, is the man behind the account.

Four youths from Thane had gone to Iraq and joined ISIS to take part in the jihad. Though one of them, Areeb Majeed, returned eventually, there are speculations about the lot of others in ISIS: Aman Tandel, Saheem Tanki, and Fahad Shaikh.
