Malaysia's first Islamic airline, Rayani Air, is the work of noted Hindu entrepreneurial couple - Ravi Alagendrran and his wife Karthiyani Govindan.
Even the brand name Rayani Air is a combination of the first names of its founders – Ra + yani.

The couple say they started the airline as a purely business activity. They say a Shariah-compliant airline that banned alcohol and served halal food was hitting on a huge niche.
They also add that people of all faith are welcome aboard.
