Narendra Modi's "Friends of India" event in Moscow on Thursday evening was flagged off in style by a Muslim Russian artist, Sati Kazanova, who sung a Sanskrit hymn, Om Ganapa-thaya namah.
Sati Kazanova, a popular singer in Russia, sung the chant of the civilisations in flawless though a little accented Sanskrit.
Sati Kazanova's chanting was part of the Indian cultural show performed by Russian artists in honour of the visiting Indian prime minister.
After the cultural event, Modi addressed the Indian community, but not before tweeting about how impressed he was with Sati Kazanova's Sanskrit chants.
Sati Kazanova or Satan Setgalievna Kazanova, who was born on October 2, 1982, is a well-known singer, model, actress, presenter and TV star.
She shot to limelight in 2002, when she took part in the first season of the show Russian "Star Factory", finishing second. She is also one of three vocalists of the band's pop Russian Fabrika.
