There are many similarities between Pakistani-American porn star Nadia Ali and her Lebanese counterpart
Mia Khalifa.
There are obvious physical similarities between the two petite women. Both of them have also faced death threats for doing porn while putting on a hijab. That has offended conservative Muslims, who see hijab as a religious symbol.
Nadia Ali, who describes herself as a porn star, and a practicing Muslim who prays twice daily, disagrees.
In an interview with
Daily Beast, she explains why she wears a hijab while shooting her sex scenes. Nadia Ali dismisses that there is anything religious to the hijab, which, she says, is just an instrument for men to suppress women.
By attacking it, she wants to overthrow the oppression and show that beneath the hijab there is a live body and soul with its own needs and that includes the desire to fuck.

She told Daily Beast: "If a Hijabi were to be horny and wanting to fuck how would she fuck? I bring that to life on camera and people get mad about it because they want to keep it modest."

Nadia Ali is emphatic that she is not targeting the religion and says she has made her directors take the word "Muslim" out of porn titles.
She is taking on the Pakistani culture which denies sexual freedom for women.
Nadia Ali, who grew up in the US, was raised by a father who 'disciplined her to be the smartest, and the brightest kid'. Her sister's first marriage was arranged by her father to an abusive man. The sister's plight in playing the submissive good wife and good daughter prompted Nadia Ali to rebel.
She says she dated outside her race and entered porn industry, which the family came to know, after the videos went viral. The family seems to be at peace with her career choice and she even says her cousins are cool about it.

But in Pakistan she remains a wanted woman. Nadia Ali avoids visiting the country as she may get recognised and come to physical harm.
But that is not stopping her. Nadia Ali says this year she wants to a lot of girl-on-girl and solo scenes to show that Middle Eastern girls of Pakistani descent do get horny.
"Since they are so forbidden to fuck, I want to show how they fuck girls and masturbate. I’m going to bring that to life," adds Nadia Ali.
