The world’s most popular adult site X Videos generated a huge buzz after it took a dig at the Modi government’s porn ban in India.

In a message it tweeted on Monday it called upon Indians to vote better next time – hinting that they had elected a wrong moral policing government.

It also gave a link to an Independent article on Indian government’s decision to block adult sites in the country.

XVideos, a free pornographic video sharing service, was one of the 857 websites, which was banned by the government.

It overtook Pornhub to become the popular adult video sharing website in November 2010.

According to Alexa, XVideos has been one of the 50 most popular websites on the Internet since early 2013, and currently has about 350 million monthly visitors.

The response to XVideos’ vote better tweet was varied. Some took umbrage that a porn site had the gall to tell them how to vote. Many took it as fun and used the occasion to engage in the general chatter around porn ban.
