Lucia director Pawan Kumar released the trailer of his next movie U Turn on Thursday, which immediately started trending on Twitter.

The first look of the U Turn, a thriller, suggests that he continues from where he left off in Lucia, a psychedelic movie, that made his reputation.

DNA notes that Pawan Kumar was working on a film titled C10 H14 N2, but could not get funds to produce it. Reluctant to compromise, he thought of U Turn, wrote the script in three days and wrapped up shooting in just three months.

The song-less movie, initially had a male protagonist, but developed to have a central female character, an Indian Express reporter.

The role is played Shraddha Srinath, a lawyer and a model, who debuted in Malayalam movie Kohinoor last year.

She got in through an audition and Pawan Kumar says she has carried the film on her shoulders. Radhika of Rangitaranaga, Dilip Raj, Roger Narayan and actors from Lucia are also in the cast.
