The poor kid, who was seen playing football wearing a plastic bag jersey, has been identified as Murtaza Ahmadi, 5, from Ghazni near Kabul.
Son of a poor farmer, Murtaza is a huge Messi fan.
As his father could not afford to buy a jersey for him, his elder brother Homayoun, 15, made it from discarded grocery bags and scrawled Messi on it.
Photos of Murtaza playing with a punctured ball wearing the plastic bag jersey went viral stirring emotions around the world.
