Congress scion Priyanka Gandhi's daughter Miraya Vadra is playing in the ongoing 42nd sub-junior basket ball tournament at Pondicherry representing Haryana.
The tall and fit 14-year-old played her first match against Tamil Nadu at the Uppalam indoor stadium on Tuesday and was not much of a help as her team lost 80-58 to the stronger opponents.
Wearing jersey Number 15, Miraya played in the second quarter of the match, but failed to score.

Miraya had come to Pondicherry separately, along with her mother Priyanka, and is staying at a local hotel. Security has been beefed up at both the hotel and stadium to ensure their safety.
Miraya did her best to ignore the thick security cover and the constantly flashing cameras at the stadium. She was seen doing what all other players did - chatting with team mates, practicing and waiting for the game to start.
The Hindu said she won hearts but did not explain how.
Tamil Nadu players said they were aware of the presence of Priyanka’s daughter, Miraya. One of them said: “...All of us are just players once you enter the court and we were focusing to win the match”.
Miraya has a younger brother Raihan.
