The BJP MLA from Vishwas Nagar was known for singlehandedly taking on AAP. Among other things, he had been suspended from the winter session of Delhi Assembly on the charge of abusing AAP MLA Alka Lamba.
But on Monday, O P Sharma was allegedly seen on TV thrashing a CPI leader Ameeque Jamai. He had initially defended himself saying Jamai had shouted Pakistani Zindabad. On Tuesday, he said he himself was beaten up and also argued that the man in the video was not him.
For all his high-pitch battles, O P Sharma is just a second time MLA. He won for the first time in 2013 to debut in the aborted Delhi Assembly and won again in 2014.
But his claim to fame in Delhi was as Jaitley’s Man Friday.
O P Sharma had gone to the Patiala Court on Monday in connection with the defamation case failed by Jaitley against Arvind Kejriwal, which had also come up for haring.
