A senior Uttar Pradesh police officer, D K Chowdhury, may be in trouble for slapping an old man in Lucknow on Tuesday.
DIG DK Chowdhury went on a patrol and reportedly got into a small verbal argument with an elderly street vendor. The cameras caught him losing his temper and giving a hard slap to the old man.
The incident occurred at Bhoothnath Market near Indira Nagar.
But a video of the slap went viral and drew the attention of DK Chowdhury’s senior officials, who took serious note of it.
PTI reports that the Director General of Police Javeed Ahmad has sought an explanation from the DIG on his action.
