In a 2013 video, former Home Secretary G K Pillai is seen saying there was no conclusive evidence to state that Ishrat Jahan was an LeT operative.
" Unless any proper investigation is carried out, we will have to give her the benefit of doubt," he further says.
He made these statements while interacting with the media. He can be seen not being comfortable taking questions on Ishrat and requests journalists to switch topic.
Last week, Pillai said Ishrat was an LeT operative, who was given a clean chit by his boss Chidambaram for political expediency.
He said Chidambaram changed an affidavit before Gujarat High Court contradicting the government’s earlier stand that she was an LeT operative.He made these statements while interacting with the media.
