A video of JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar and team chanting azadi slogans has gone viral.
This video was shot late last year when students from JNU and other universities had launched the Occupy UGC campaign. Students had camped in front of the UGC office in New Delhi office for nearly a month to protest the scrapping of scholarship for non-NET students.
Shot in the night, the video shows Kanhaiya Kumar with a hand drum chanting azadi slogans along with a small group of fellow students. They say azadi is dearer than their lives and also their right, which they will snatch and take.
The beats are catchy and you see a spunky Kanhaiya Kumar enjoying himself. The azadi sloganeering popular with the left students became nationally known after the anti-national controversy exploded in JNU.
