Pappada Vada, a restaurant in Kochi, has installed a refrigerator on the road to help feed the poor and the homeless.
It has vowed to leave 50 food packets in it and has appealed to the Good Samaritans of Kochi to contribute generously.
Anyone can walk in and leave fresh food parcels in it mentioning the date of preparation. And anyone can open it and to take whatever they need.
The fridge called “Nanma Maram” or ‘Tree of Goodness’ is the idea of the restaurant owner Minu Pauline.
The fridge, which was made public on Sunday, has received good media coverage and created a buzz. Many are depositing as well as taking food from the Tree of Goodness, as the video below shows.
