Is Yatra.com's ad inspired by Kanhaiya Kumar or a spoof to dilute the causes he upholds? (video below) |
E-travel company Yatra.com has released a new advertisement inspired by JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar to promote its new check-in app, which promises to eliminate queues and get the seat you want.
A Kanhaiya Kumar look-like, complete with a charming leftist beard, goes to the ticketing clerk at an airport and asks for a window seat.
All taken, is the response.
'Kanhaiya Kumar' is so annoyed, he grabs a mike, which is conveniently placed on her desk, and breaks into the now famous azadi speech. As a small group of young men root for him, Kanhaiya Kumar chants I-want-azadi slogans - azadi to get window seats and azadi from long queues.
Is Yatra.com's ad inspired by Kanhaiya Kumar or a spoof to trivialise the causes he upholds? Answer strictly depends on your political stand.
But the ad, released on Friday, has none of the exuberance of the original, which made Kanhaiya Kumar so famous.
