The T20 World Cup finals went to the wires with the West Indies making light of a tough endgame target against England , thanks to a ferocious knock by Carlos Brathwaite.
While Marlon Samuels had set up the Windies win with a magnificent 85 off 66 balls, the winning team needed 19 runs off the final over with the inexperienced Brathwaite at the striker’s end.
He hit the first ball from Ben Stokes behind square for a six. The next ball was hit for a six over long-on and the third ball sailed over long-off crashing the equation to 1 off 3 balls.
An impatient Brathwaite hit another six over deep mid-wicket to wind up the game.
