A patient, who had stabbed himself gruesomely, was wheeled into a hospital in Zaragoza, Spain.
The erect sword had been buried in his chest, scratching through the outer muscle of the heart, which continued to beat.
Graphic footage of the operation video shows the surgeon deftly pulling out the sword without cutting anything.
Video has gone viral, but not for the weak-hearted.
