Of the 25 properties of former deputy chief minister Chhagan Bhujbal, which are under Anti-Corruption Bureau's (ACB) scanner, it is the 'Rs 100 crore' farm house, Bhujbal Palace, which stands out.
Located on the Mumbai-Agra road in Nashik, the Bhujbal Palace has 25 rooms, a huge swimming pool, a tennis court, gym, grand hall, library, kitchen, temple room and a huge tulsi vrindavan.
Mid Day quoted a source who said each tree in the lawn lit up with different colours, giving it the most surreal look.
Bhujbal knew about the scandal-causing potential of his favourite retreat. It was out of bounds for anyone who was not a family members or a trusted aide. Even fellow party members and friends were kept out and no body could get in unless Bhujbal himself okayed it.
Environplanners, who designed the building, describe it as a colonial-style structure, which is connected with nature, natural light and ventilation to the fullest.
"A splash of lush green foliage is taken right to the heart of the structure," it adds.
