Kuldeep Dwivedi, son of a security guard, has a tough time explaining to his parents what it would mean to be an IPS officer.
His father Surya Kant Dwivedi, who works as a security guard at Lucknow University, think that a sub inspector is the most powerful person in the police department.
Kuldeep had to explain to his parents that after training his first posting would be as an Assistant Superintendent of Police, which is way above the rank of a sub inspector.
Hearing that his father's eyes welled up, he told The Hindustan Times.
Surya Kant Dwivedi was at work when Kuldeep met him to inform that he had stood 242nd in the Civil Services Examination, a rank that is likely to place him in Indian Police Service.
Kuldeep, the youngest of three brothers and a sister, is a post graduate from Allahabad. He had failed to crack the exam in his first two attempts.
In 2013, though he was selected as an assistant commandant in the Border Security Force, he did not join the training, opting to give a shot to the civil services.
