The Indian 'nationalists' were out in full force on Thursday in full opposition to the Textiles Ministry signing an MOU with NDTV Ethnic Retail Ltd, a sister concern of their hated news channel.

The MOU signed by the Handlooms division of Textiles Ministry seeks NDTV Retail's help for popularizing India Handloom textiles among the youth.

Though the MoU was signed on 10th May, the Textiles Ministry tweeted about it on Thursday morning setting off the controversy.

The 'nationalists' as the BJP supporters fashion themselves, were upset that the Modi government was working with a media group that opposes them tooth and nail.

Many pointed out that Modi government had tied up with NDTV ignoring the fact most of its supporters boycotted the channel.

On Thursday, as the 'nationalists' anger exploded, many warned Modi not to take his supporters for granted.  A hashtag #nodealwithndtv trended for a good part of the Thursday evening.

NDTV, the centre-left TV station, has a a troubled history with the BJP supporters. The party had briefly boycotted it after it had wrongly reported that Sushma Swaraj had opposed Modi's elevation as prime ministerial  candidate in the run up to the 2014 polls.
