The world’s largest cargo aircraft, Antonov AN -225 Mriya flew in from Turkmenistan and landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on Friday night,
Its maker ANtonic Company of Ukraine is eyeing the Indian market and has signed a pact with Anil Ambani-led Reliance Defence to assemble, manufacture, and maintain its planes in India.
The landing of Antonov An-225 Mriya was part of a promo of the tie up.
The Antonov An-225 Mriya, was designed by the Soviet Union in the 1980s to transport its Buran spaceplane.
It is powered by six turbofan engines and is the longest and heaviest airplane ever built, with a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes.
It also has the largest wingspan of any aircraft in operational service.
