Bollywood stunt-woman Geeta Tandon, who was seen in Khatron ka khiladi, lost her mother at the age of 10 and her life became an endless stream of mishaps.
They would have got a lesser person to crumble, but not Geeta Tandon. In a documentary released by Blush, she tells her gritty story.
She was married off at 15 to an alcoholic. She was clueless about sex and the man listened to his mother’s taunt, ripped off Geeta Tandon’s clothes and raped her. Every night became a time to dread and continued even after she had two children.
She decided to leave him and did that in a rush, with him chasing her and the kids with a sword in hand. When her sister tried to give her shelter, the irate husband burnt Geeta Tandon’s brother-in-law’s auto rickshaw.
Geeta Tandon was on her own, taking shelter in a gurudwara for sometime and surviving on odd jobs, making 250 rotis a day at a mess, for instance.
Every second job offer she got was related to sex work and she fiercely resisted that. She went to work in a massage parlour, with a friend, without knowing what it was. She quit after a woman broke down crying that a customer had forced her to give a blow job.
A chance break took Geeta Tandon to Bollywood as an extra, from where she graduated into a stunt woman. The first assignment burnt her face though. She has been successful and dreams of becoming an action director.
Geeta Tandon has two lovely teens, who are enjoying the life as normal kids, thanks to a woman who could not be defeated.
