Saurabh Shresth, the science topper of state-level exam for plus two students of Bihar , has failed in the re exam.
ANI reported the development on Saturday without giving details on how much Saurabh Shresth had scored.
Bihar education officials had held a re-exam for seven top rankers in the high school board exams on Friday. The exercise had been necessitated after a few of them gave ridiculous answers to media queries.
Science topper Saurabh Shreshth could not differentiate between water and H2O and had identified Aluminium as the most reactive element in the periodic table.
Arts topper Ruby Rai could not pronounce ‘political science’ and said it dealt with the art of cooking.
The expose had raised questions over the merit of the toppers forcing a re-exam to validate their performance. Both, Ruby and Saurabh are students of Bishun Rai College in Hajipur which has over the last few years become notorious for producing dubious toppers year after year.
India Today had reported on Thursday that there was a doubt on Saurabh Shreshth writing the re-exam. His father Ajay Singh had been quoted saying that Saurabh Shreshth was in Kota preparing for medical entrance exams.
Though Ajay Singh had sought for more time, Saurabh Shreshth did appear for the re-exam, getting a different result in the second try.
