The unfortunate dog that was thrown from the roof of a five-story building has luckily survived the ordeal.
Two MBBS students Ashish Paul and Gautam Sudharshan, who have been accused of the ghastly crime, which was caught in a viral video, are on the run.
The dog reportedly suffered fractures in the incident that took place two weeks ago in Chennai. It is on track to recovery and can't stop wagging its tail, notes animal rights activist Karthik Dhandapani.
It has also been given a name, Bhadra. A video of Bhadra, shows her frail but out of danger and in the care animal rights activists.
NewsCrunch had reported on Tuesday that the dog had succumbed to its injuries on Tuesday and stands corrected.
The video, which went viral shows Gautam Sudharshan throwing the dog off the roof, while Ashish Paul allegedly caught it on camera.
Horrified animal rights activists filed a complaint with Chennai police and launched a massive man hunt to identify the culprits, who turned out to be students of Madha Medical College.
Their parents have promised to turn them in and the principal of Madha Medical College has advised the to surrender to the police.
