A policeman was killed yesterday in stone-throwing in Amreli, around 400 km from Ahmedabad.

Opposition parties led by Congress and Dalit leader Mallikarjun Kharge have demanded full probe into the incident. Sonia Gandhi, Mayawati, Mamata Banerjee, Kejriwal, among others, have condemned atrocities on Dalits and demanded prompt action from the government.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh condemned the violence in Lok Sabha on  Wednesday and said the government would find a permanent solution for it.
