Animal rights activists have filed a complaint with Hyderabad police against a man caught on camera shooting at two dogs with an air gun.
While one dog died on the spot, the fate of the other is not clear.
The video of the dog shooter surfaced on Wednesday, the same day five Hyderabad boys went viral for burning three puppies.
In the video, the colourfully-dressed dog shooter is seen firing at two dogs in separate incidents. In the first, in an industrial area, the dog is hit and is seen fleeing while yelping in pain.
In the second, he is seen taking aim at a dog and shooting. As the dog collapses to the ground, he is heard exclaiming, Fuck.
In the first incident, you can see a few trucks in the background. The writing on some of them suggest that the location is Hyderabad city.
The Humane Society of India has announced a cash reward of one lakh rupees for more information on the killer.
Deccan Chronicle quoted Nampally inspector Mahdu Mohan Reddy saying a complaint had been received but there was not sufficient information on the suspect or the scene of offence.
"We have suggested that he (the complainant) approach cybercrime police and lodge a complaint with them," he said.
