A Muslim man, Shakir, in Mangalore was beaten up, stripped and tied to a pole for daring to go out with a Hindu girl on Monday.
A video clip being telecast by TV channels shows the group holding Shakir by his collar and giving him a sound thrashing. A few of them are seen capturing the drama on their mobile.
The victim, Shakir worked at a supermarket at Attavar in the Mangalore. He had gone out to draw money from ATM along with a Hindu colleague, who wanted to borrow Rs 2,000 from him.

After the TV channels started showing the clip, the police swung into action and arrested his assailants, who are said to belong to a right-wing Hindu group.
Shakir has been hospitalised and is said to be recovering.
