Here is a winner of a video, powerful and with a message that you will make you support a cause that is crying for attention – banning open sale of acids.
The video Beauty Tips by Reshma: How to get perfect red lips runs just over a minute. Like all great short videos the twist is in the end. When it comes you are left shattered.
Reshma Qureshi, an acid attack survivor, gives tips on how to apply lipstick. Remove dead skin, use a lip balm, a liner and don’t apply on the edges.
Then comes the final tip:
You can buy a red lipstick anywhere just like acid, which disfigures a girl everyday.
She then asks you to sign a petition for banning opens sale of acid.
Ironically, the Supreme Court banned the open sale of acid in July 2013, and gave the central and state governments three months to enforce the ban. But this seems to have not happened on the ground prompting Make Love Not Scars start this campaign.
Make Love Not Scars is a website, which highlights the plight of the acid attack survivors and helps mobilise support for them.
Reshma Qureshi was disfigured and lost an eye when her estranged brother-in-law and his friends pinned her down and poured acid on her face.
She had earlier featured in another video Reshma - The Brave Beauty to draw attention on acid attacks.
