There is a mad scramble for tickets among Mumbaikars for the upcoming Zubin mehta concert, with many fans lining up in the queue a full 17 hours before the counter opened. .
Western classical music legend Zubin Mehta is scheduled to perform in Mumbai, his hometown, on October 25 and 26 at National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA).
While the NCPA ticket counter was scheduled to open at 9.30 am on Saturday, patrons started lining up on Friday afternoon at 4 pm, reports The Times of India. While a few Zubin Mehta fans had come themselves, many had sent their drivers or other staff to sweat it out.
Anticipating the rush, which is usual for a Zubin Mehta concert, organisers had planned to issue tokens. Instead of standing in queue all night, patrons could collect their tokens and come back again on Saturday for tickets.
But the tokens added to the confusion as many did not know and had to buy them from touts who had managed to corner them.
