BJP has dropped PM Modi’s photos from two advertisements that appeared after the first phase of Bihar polls (Advertisement 1, Advertisement 2.)

A BJP leader told Scrolloff-the-record that Modi would go conspicuously missing in the advertisements to be issued in the coming days as well.

BJP expects not to do well in the Bihar elections, whose results would be announced early next months after four more rounds of voting. According to Scroll, the party is trying to shield Modi from the debacle.

BJP in Bihar refrained from announcing a chief ministerial candidate and built the campaign around Modi. Though Modi mounted a spirited campaign, the wily duo Nitish-Lalu seem to  have got their caste and religious arithmetic right, say field reports.

The Modi wave, which swept the country last year, seems to be palpably missing as BJP battles the image that it is  against reservation, lower castes and minorities.
