A killer whale has been caught on camera tossing up a seal, its favourite meal, 80 feet into air.
The whale uses its massive power to catch up with the hapless seal and launches it towards the sky using its tail. As the seal falls, it goes for the kill.
The film by Roll Focus Productions was shot in Canada and made public on Saturday. The film makers were tracking a group of killer whales or Orcas known as the T69s. The whale in the film is a 20-year-old lone male in the group, identified as T69C.
The orca is the largest member of the dolphin family. It is highly intelligent, highly adaptable and able to communicate and coordinate hunting tactics.
