Despite centralisation, Arun Shourie said Modi was running the weakest PMO ever. (Video below) |
During a book release function on Monday, BJP leader Arun Shourie made a sharp attack on the Narendra Modi government.
He said the Modi government was just Congress plus cow, meaning it had failed to break any new ground. Arun Shourie said the government believed that managing economy meant “managing the headlines” and charged it with failing to initiate reforms.
Suggesting that a quick disillusionment had set in, Arun Shourie said people had begun to miss former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Singh, who had become very unpopular towards the end of his term, was commonly described as a weak PM.
Despite centralisation, Arun Shourie said Modi was running the weakest PMO ever.
Interestingly, Manmohan Singh, Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subranamian and former Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran were also present at the launch of ‘Turn of The Tortoise’, a book written by former Business Standard Editor-in-Chief T N Ninan,
Arun Shourie has spoken out against the Modi government earlier as well. He had said Modi was centralising the country and remained clueless on economy.
