BJP leader Channabasappa lands in jail after epic speech on Siddu

Karnataka district-level BJP leader Channabasappa has been arrested for threatening to behead Karnataka CM Siddaramiah.

Siddu had earned his ire by proclaiming that he would eat beef to challenge bigots.

The English translation of the threat made in a Monday evening speech would be:

If you have guts come to Gopi circle (in Shimoga) and eat cow meat, your head will roll.

Channabasappa's  speech is emotional and delivered with a flourish. He seems to have issued the threat in rhetorical heat than in the manner of a cold-blooded ISIS terrorist

What's more he struggles to deliver the threat.

Before you proceed further, there are three Kannada words you need to know: Rundu (head), chendu (ball) and (thundu) piece.

The phrase runda-vannu chenda-duve  - will play your head like a ball - was something you heard in every mythological Kannada movie and this is what Channabasappa wants to invoke.

Like most actors, he needs three takes to get it right.

First he suggests he will play with Siddu's balls, then he says he will play with Siddu's piece and finally gets it right and utters:

Will play with your head like a ball  

And the leader lands in jail for his unrelenting effort.
