Video: Watch super girl Serena Williams sprinting after thief to get her phone back – she lets him go

CCTV footage at a San Francisco restaurant shows Serena Williams putting into use her athletic ability to catch a thief, who had flicked her phone.

Serena Williams had gone to the restaurant with a friend when the middle-aged thief walked past her table and slyly picked up the phone.

As the thief walked out, Serena Williams quickly realised that she had been robbed and ran outside.

The CCTV footage shows her catching up with the thief, who tried to run, effortlessly.

Despite being the victim, Williams gave him the benefit of the doubt and asked if he had taken her phone accidently.

The thief fumbled for words and admitted that he must have grabbed the wrong phone. She thanked him for returning the phone and went back to the restaurant.

Serena Williams posted the incident, along with a photo showing her in the super girl attire, on her Facebook page.

The male friend with whom she had gone to the restaurant seems to have sat glued to his seat through the entire drama.
