Haryana school kids to study 36 shlokas from Bhagwad Gita chapters from next year

From the next academic session, Haryana children in classes VI to XII would study Bhagwad Gita shlokas as part of moral education curriculum.   Founder of Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti Dina Nath Batra told The Times of India that students would be taught a compilation of two shlokas from every chapter of the Bhagwat Gita.

From the next academic session, Haryana children in classes VI to XII would study Bhagwad Gita shlokas as part of moral education curriculum.

Founder of Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti Dina Nath Batra told The Times of India that students would be taught a compilation of two shlokas from every chapter of the Bhagwat Gita.

Given that there are 18 chapters in Gita, there would be a total of 36 shlokas for the children to be mastered.

Existing school teachers would be trained to teach the Hindu scripture.

Batra, who is an education consultant to the Haryana Government, made the announcement after attending a meeting with Chief Minister Khattar on the education policy in the State.

Khattar had earlier announced that Bhagawad Gita would be added to to the state academic curriculum from the coming session.
