A writer from Bangalore, Sandhya Ramesh, has turned a propaganda video on Modi dedicated by Censor Board Chief Pahlaj Nihalani, into an object of ridicule.

The video India under Modi is playing at select theaters and online since November 10.

Sandhya Ramesh has painstakingly exposed that the video uses visuals of scientific accomplishments of other countries while showcasing Modi's work.

The list of visuals in the video include: International space station, California solar farm, Tour de France, NASA's Atlantis space shuttle, Japan's HTV-3 exiting the ISS, Moscow's International Business Centre, US Air Force's Tomcat and expressway construction in Dubai.

The video is more than a mindless compilation of attractive visuals. It is an attempt to pass off these accomplishments as Modi's contribution to humanity.

The filmmakers have used Atlantis space shuttle removing NASA logo with shabby photoshop work. The Make-in-India campaign's Lion mascot has been superimposed on the International space station photo.

The Modi propaganda video was released in theaters last week along with Salman Khan's movie Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. It has been drawing adverse comments as many found it to be in poor taste.

It compares Modi to Mahatma Gandhi and shows him meditating in Himalayas, again using a photoshopped image.

Pahlaj Nihalani had defended the video saying it was not meant to glorify Modi but to prompt everyone to work for the betterment of the nation.

Sandhya Ramesh, a New York University alumnus, is a published writer and a highly rated Quora member. Her tag line on Quora says she is curious about very specific things. Pahlaj Nihalani's Modi tribute turned out to be one of them.
