Bhakts started mobilising to boycott e-commerce player Snapdeal after its brand ambassador Aamir Khan hit out against growing intolerance in the country.

Addressing an audience of journalists during an awards function in New Delhi Aamir went to the extent to saying his wife Kiran wanted to leave the country fearing for the future of their child.

His comments outraged members of various right wing groups, who felt that the Bollywood  actor had shamed the country, which had given him stunning success and recognition.

They also pointed out that he had been married twice and both the times to Hindu women, and hence could not call the country intolerant.

In protest, they urged people to uninstall app till Snapdeal drops Aamir as its brand ambassador.

Snapdeal paid Aamir a reported Rs 4 to 5 crore in March to sign him up as its brand ambassador. Aamir has been associated with brands like Coca Cola, Samsung, Godrej, Tata Sky and Titan watches.
