YouTube’s greatest pop star Psy video has released a new music video “Daddy” that promises to live up to the reputation of his previous hit Gangnam Style.

Released in 2012, Gangnam Style went on to clock 2 billion views.

Daddy comes with all the ingredients that made Gangnam Style a  global hit – senseless lyrics, bad hairstyle, a catchy tune and energetic dancing with  signature moves.

In the music video, Psy plays both an infant and his middle-aged father. The kid is asked “Hey, where’d you get that body from?” The answer is “I got it from my daddy.”

Critics are hating it so much, they are sending it viral though grudgingly. Some say it is a Will.i.am’s I got it from my mama clone, while others say it is a spoof on North Korea’s  Kim Il Jong.

The similarities with Gangnam Style are not accidental. Psy told journalists in Seoul that the Success of Gangnam Style burdened him. He wanted to write something close to it, to produce a similar effect.

A quarter of Indian wives are adulterous, leading a roaring sex life outside the wedlock, if a new survey is to be believed. 24 per cent of married Indian women have reportedly had one-night stands, orgies and even paid sex. Three per cent have had threesomes and 34 per cent regularly watch porn, reports the ninth annual sex survey of the India Today Group. Part of the data is in line with other surveys which claim that a high percentage of Indian women follow porn sites.
Sex survey covered 2,680 men and 2,685 women across 11 cities

A quarter of Indian wives are adulterous, leading a roaring sex life outside the wedlock, if a new survey is to be believed.

24 per cent of married Indian women have reportedly had one-night stands, orgies and even paid sex.  Three per cent have had threesomes and 34 per cent regularly watch porn, reports the ninth annual sex survey of the India Today Group.

Part of the data is in line with other surveys which claim that a high percentage of Indian women follow porn sites.

The India Today survey found that Indian men are also opening up for one-night stands, extramarital affairs, swapping wives and having threesomes.

A third of the Indian married couple are bored with their sex life. Men say their wives are not ideal bedmates, while wives say sex becomes monotonous and unimportant.

This perhaps holds the key to why Indian husbands and wives are venturing out seeking sex.

There are also shades of conservative thinking. The majority oppose live-in relationships and a quarter of them frown upon premarital sex.

The sex survey covered 2,680 men and 2,685 women across 11 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Patna, Lucknow, Jaipur and Ludhiana.

December 3, 2015, NewsCrunch

Ram Gopal Varma's obsession with Sridevi's thunder thighs has drawn an angry response from her husband Boney Kapoor and the duo had clashed on the subject a year ago as well.

While launching his autobiography Guns and Thighs, RGV said the title was inspired by two  most iconic visuals that represented Bollywood in 1980s. The Gun was Amitabh Bachchan wielding the weapon in Deewar while the Thighs came from Sridevi's thunder thighs in Himmatwala.

RGV told the media that he still went gaga over the Sridevi's thighs and said she was tragically reduced to a house wife after marrying producer Boney Kapoor.

Boney Kapoor hit back calling RGV a pervert, who could not respect a married woman and a mother of two grownup daughters.

The controversy is a replay of an incident that occurred a year ago when RGV wanted to make a raunchy Telugu film about a younger man's obsession with an older woman.

He wanted to name the movie after Sridevi and promptly got a legal notice from man, reports Deccan Chronicle.

The controversy ended as RGV decided to abort the movie.

In country’s tech capital, Bengaluru, Non-Brahmins outnumber Brahmins in studying Sanskrit, and a good many of them are Muslims.

There are 18 eighteen aided Sanskrit teaching institutions in Bengaluru. These have 520 Brahmin, 1,646 Non-Brahmin, 45 Muslim and 10 Christian students, according to Bangalore Mirror.

Non-Brahmins – from SC,ST, Vokkaliga and Lingayat communities – outnumber Brahmins by a factor of three.  Sixty SC/ST students have enrolled to a graduation course in Sanskrit.

The Non-Brahmin interest in Sanskrit is not surprising as various caste groups have set up Sanskrit colleges to challenge the hold of Brahmins over the language.

What is surprising is the high number of Muslim students and some Christians as well studying the language.  Muslim students amount to 8% of Brahmin students studying Sanskrit.

Mirror interviewed a student Ayesha Imtiaz, 14, who said she has been studying Sanskrit since she was just eight years old, for the love of the language.

Today, she has memorized more than 400 subhashistas.

Mirror also reported that four Sanskrit schools - SriSiddharthaSanskritSchool, Vasavi Veda Sanskrit patasala, Vidya Nivedita, Veerabadra Swamy Samskrita Patasala, and Siddha Ganga Samskrita Patasala - hardly have any Brahmin students.

She questions the artists, who returned awards for acting on isolated instances, and for overlooking similar incidents under the long Congress rule. She cites the Emergency excesses on media and minorities, and the massacre of the Sikhs in 1984 as incidents that failed to get any response from the tolerance brigade.

She slams Aamir and Shahrukh Khan for leading privileged lives and for being out of touch with reality and accuses the opposition of blocking bills to stall development.

The Telangana BJP has split in its response to the Osmania university beef festival that is proposed to be held on December 10.

Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy said on Wednesday that as the beef festival would serve only buffalo meat, BJP would neither support nor oppose it, reports Indian Express.

His stand contradicts the aggressive position taken by Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh, who has vowed to stop the festival at all cost.

Raja Singh has gone on record saying he would kill or get killed to stop the festival and said even Modi would not be able to stop him.

Kishan Reddy said Raja Singh was acting without permission in opposing the fest. The MLA was acting more like an independent candidate and had stopped participating in party activities, he added.

But Raja Singh seems to be more in line with Hindutva sentiments on the issue. He was accompanied by members of the BJP, VHP and Hindu Janjagruti Samiti when he submitted a memorandum to the government opposing the event on Wednesday.

The Osmania beef festival that has been held annually since 2012 has become controversial this year with a rival group of students threatening to hold a pork food festival.

The Telangana government  has indicated that it would not give permission for students to hold beef fest this year.

Why is math, a universal phobia?

Mathematics is not difficult, but because of gaps in basic concepts, students struggle with it, says Salman Khan, founder of  online tutorial company Khan Academy.
.
The present teaching system, which tries to herd students from one subject to another, does not give them enough opportunities to plug the gaps in their understanding.

When you don't fully understand a concept and move on to the next level, the gap amplifies.

Calculus seems hard because you don't understand Algebra, which in turn is difficult because you don't get exponents or negative numbers, says Salman Khan in an interview with The Times of India. .

People good in maths are those with strong foundations. They didn't have too many gaps, so later on mathematics seems very intuitive, he adds.

Khan Academy lets people run a diagnostics, identify gaps and then plug them at their own pace.

Salman Khan has been described as the "Messiah of Mathematics."

Khan's academy has over 26 million registered students in mathematics, science and other subjects

Salman Khan, a graduate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has an MBA from Harvard Business School as well.

December 4, 2015, NewsCrunch

An online petition to stop female genital mutilation has drawn support from 3,000 Dawoodi Bohra women in just two days.

The petition calls upon the Government of India to legally prohibit the practice of genital cutting of Bohra girls, reports Mumbai Mirror.

Bohra is the only community in Indiawhich practices female genital mutilation, known as khatna, which is considered a religious obligation. The practice is common in North Africa, to where the Dawoodi Bohras trace their origin.

Khatna is the ritual removal of the external female genitalia.  It is typically carried out by a traditional circumciser using a blade, with or without anaesthesia, in most cases on girls around age 7.

It has been extensively documented that female genital mutilation leads to severe pain, haemorrhage, sepsis and harms the girls psychologically. But within Bohra community there is tremendous pressure to carry on with the tradition.

Usually, the older women members of the Bohra families take lead in the ritual sometimes even without informing their men.

Ironically, Dawoodi Bohras, a Shia sect, are known for gender equality and women's empowerment.

A similar petition had been attempted in 2011; it had been delivered to Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, the spiritual leader of the sect.
