The Miss Universe ceremony host Steve Harvey made a blunder by declaring a wrong winner on Sunday.

He announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Guiterrez as the winner, who was actually the First Runner Up.

The jury had awarded the title of Miss Universe 2015 to Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of the Philippines.

Miss Colombia Ariadna Guiterrez began celebrating her victory, receiving her crown from another Colombian beauty -- Paulina Vega, who had won it in 2014.


But Steve Harvey stepped forward to say he had made a big mistake and said Miss Philippineshad won the title.

Vega returned to the stage, took away the crown from Guiterrez and placed it on the head of Wurtzbach.


"I will take the responsibility for this. It's on the card. Don't hold it against the ladies. Still a great night,"Harvey told the audience.

Miss Colombia Ariadna Guiterrez made  a strong comeback on Sunday after she was wrongly announced as Miss Universe.

Ceremony host Steve Harvey committed a blunder by declaring her the title winner instead of  Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach of the Philippines.

There was an embarrassing pause of a few minutes between the two announcements.

After she heard the announcement, Ariadna started celebrating her success and even received the crown from Paulina Vega, a fellow Colombian beauty, who had won it in 2014.


It was a particularly heady moment for Colombia as the country had seemingly won the crown twice in a row.

But after Steve Harvey made his second announcement, Ariadna was left in tears. Vega took the crown away from her and gave it to Pia Alonzo.

But speaking back stage Ariadna had the grace to say everything happened for a reason. She also thanked her fans profusely, who continued to cheer for her.

Flop Kannada Huchcha Venkat re-released after a year on Friday to a roaring reception.

The film acted, directed and produced by Huchcha Venkat released in 50 theatres all over the state, 12 in Bangalore alone, reports Bangalore Mirror.

As the now famous actor went around the theatres, police struggled to control the surge of fans.

Huchcha Venkat had released on November 28, 2014 and set a dubious record with its utter flop show. It had managed to sell only 17 tickets on its first day.

So, what explains the dramatic turnaround of the movie?

In the intervening period, Huchcha Venkat emerged as a big name in the industry with a string of controversies, developing his own fan base along the way.

Ironically, the flop show sparked the revival in his career.

His angry rants against the audience blaming them for the failure of the film went viral. The other controversies from Big Boss Kannada to TV studio fights kept him in the limelight.

His comeback proves that there is no such thing as  bad publicity in show business.

Do they feel the Shahrukh and Aamir Khan insulted the country by saying there was intolerance? Or do, they just want all people to speak the same language and follow the same religion.

Rayani Air, a fully Shariat-compliant Malaysian airline, launched its first flight on Sunday between Kuala Lumpur to the resort island of Langkawi. A prayer was announced before take off. Food was strictly halal and there was no alcohol on board. Airhostesses came dressed in hijab, while non-Muslim crew were fully clothed.

Rayani Air, a fully Shariat-compliant Malaysian airline, launched its first flight on Sunday between Kuala Lumpur to the resort island of Langkawi.


A prayer was announced before take off. Food was strictly halal and there was no alcohol on board. Airhostesses came dressed in hijab, while non-Muslim crew were fully clothed.


A video of Rayani Air's first flight shows prayers being announced on the public speakers and passengers joining in from their seats.

A spokesperson of Rayani Air told reporters that the airline was committed to following Shariat or Islamic rules. In the coming days, the adherence to Shariat code would be refined, he said.

A Mumbai cop, Sandeep Bhosle, pulled out a five-year-old boy from the tracks and saved him from an approaching train at Ambernath Station on Sunday.

The incident has been captured by local CCTV cameras. If you want to grasp the full force of the phrase, nick of time, this is the video to watch.

The CCTV footage shows a train coming in, a small boy on track, trying to climb to the platform. As other horrified passengers look on, he is too short to make it.

You see a man dropping his bag to reach out to the boy and pull him up to safety, just as the train passes.

Mid Day identified the man as constable Sandeep Bhosle of ATS. A Mahim resident, he was with his family waiting for a train to CST when he saw the boy on track.

The boy was reportedly waiting for his parents on the other side of the platform, who had gone to buy tickets. He saw them on the other platform and got down to the tracks to cross over.

Bhosle said he was thinking of his child of the same age. He says everyone should do the same in a situation like this.

SpaceX has made aviation history by successfully landing its powerful Falcon 9 rocket in upright position at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

An official video captures a magical moment never seen before -  a flared-up rocket landing vertically instead of blasting off.

The white portion of the rocket glided back to Earth with its engines burning and slipped into its position.


SpaceX had failed in its attempts to land the Falcon 9's first stage on a floating ocean platform earlier.
The company, owned by Internet tycoon Elon Musk, is trying to make rockets as reusable as airplanes.


The space industry currently loses many millions of dollars in jettisoned rocket components after each launch.



Falcon 9 also put a payload of 11 satellites for ORBCOMM into orbit.

Bangalore techie Balvinder Singh shot dead in hometown Karimnagar after he stabbed 22 people – photos, videos

Balvinder Singh, a Bangalore-based software engineer, was shot dead by Karimnagar police, after he went on a rampage stabbing 22 people.

His parents and an auto driver, among his victims, are said to be critical.  Three more are seriously wounded.

Balvinder Singh had been depressed after failing in civil services exams. He was under medical treatment for the last one month and had been staying with his parents.


On Tuesday morning, he got into an argument with his father and allegedly hit him on his head with the sword. After allegedly stabbing his mother, he rushed out, attacking passersby.

The police, who rushed to the spot, reportedly bore the brunt of his fury.

After two constables were hurt trying to pacify him, inspector Vijay Sarathi opened fire killing him.

Powered by word of mouth publicity Bajirao Mastani overtook the fancied Dilwale on Monday.

Bajirao Mastani earned 10.25 crore and Dilwale Rs. 10.09 cr on the first day of the week.

While the difference between them was not much, the development is terrible for Dilwale.

Monday saw a 50% drop in earnings for Dilwale when compared to its peak - the collection on Friday, the day it was released (Rs 21 crore).

As industry analyst Taran Adarsh explained the drop for Bajirao Mastani was just 10 to15% when compared to its Friday peak when it made 12.08 cr.

The pattern is likely to hold good for the rest of the week and for the coming weekend. If that happens Bajirao Mastani’s total theatre earnings would overtake Dilwale.

Shahrukh Khan and Rohit Shetty sounded disappointed.

Shahrukh Khan blamed Dilwale’s lukewarm performance to the clash with Bajirao Mastani. He has also made it clear that his next Eid movie Raees will not clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan.

Rohit Shetty said as many theatres did not show Dilwale in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on Friday and Saturday, overall earnings had come down.

Upset over Shahrukh Khan’s comments on intolerance, right wing groups had warned theatre owners from showing Dilwale.

It quickly went viral getting 42,000 likes and than 100,000 shares.

It look deceptively simple, enticing viewers to have a go at cracking it. But as people found out around the world, the panda remained elusive.

Some were angered enough to call the puzzle a hoax and declare that there was no panda.

Gergely told a news outlet that he was also baffled that the puzzle had gone viral. "Glad to see how people like something I made," he added.

Balvinder Singh, who was shot dead on Tuesday in Karimnagar for going on a stabbing spree, has been described as a star student who kick-started his career in IT industry in style.

He was campus recruited from NIT Warangal by Oracle, where he did well, and was drawing a salary of Rs 18 lakh a year.

According to the police, after failing in civil services, Balvinder Singh got depressed and was under treatment

Deccan Chronicle reports that Balvinder Singh had stood 4th in AP Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) in 2010 and had joined NIT Warangal from where he also earned his post-graduate degree in MCA.

People who knew described him as a top student, cool and friendly.

Balvinder Singh had earlier studied at Gowthami Model School and gone Sri Chaitanya Degree College in Karimnagar.

Hindu Mahasabha activists burnt a car belonging to Dawood Ibrahim in Indirapuram in Ghaziabaddistrict of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.

The green Hyundai Accent car had been bought by Swami Chakrapani, national president of All India Hindu Mahasabha, in an auction on December 9.


A short video clip shows Hindu Mahasabha activists lighting posing for the cameras with the car burning in the background.

Swami Chakrapani said the car had been burnt as it was a symbol of terrorism.

He said he wanted to convert the car into an ambulance, but when Dawood’s gang threatened him, he decided torch it.

Chakrapani said he didn't need any security as he was not afraid of threats, though he filed a complaint with Mandir Marg police in Delhi on December 11 after receiving the threat calls.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao performed the first day of 'Ayutha Chandi Maha Yagam', at his farm house in Medak district braving criticism from the opposition.

The Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh E S L Narasimhan also took part in the reportedly Rs 7 crore yagna, which is being performed for people's welfare.


The five-day event is being performed by 2,000 priests and is expected to draw 2 lakh devotees. The Art of Living spiritual leader Shri Ravishankar also played a key role in the ceremonies.

KCR went around the 'yagashala' and performed 'Garu Prarthana' in front of the idol of 'Chandi Matha.' 'Gou puja', 'Maha Mantapa Sthapanam', 'Chandi yantra lekhanam', were some of the rituals that were performed on the first day.


BJP and CPI(M) have slammed him of misusing government machinery and wasting public money.


Rao says all the expenses are being met with the contribution of his well wishers, besides his personal funds.

Popular British porn star Megan Clara, has come out with her story - she entered adult business so that she could buy expensive Christmas gifts to her five-year-old son Ashton.

Megan Clara, who is just 20, is a single mother from Portsmouth and a new entrant to the porn business.

A year ago she was struggling for money and could barely spend £100 buying toys for her son.

The look of disappointment on Ashton's face made her vow that 2015 would be different. And opportunity came knocking from the porn industry.

According to Daily Mail Megan Clara charges £500 per adult shoot and that industry has given her enough money to splurge on gifts for her son, spending as much as £1,500.

The bag of gifts, included a bike, which Ashton had been asking for three years.

But there is a downside - she has to cope with people shouting abuses and other moms at school whispering at her back.

But she says the haters have made her stronger and she sees no need to explain herself to strangers.

'I know I'm not perfect but I love my little boy to pieces and I know I'm a good mum, that's all that matters,' she told Daily Mail.

Megan Clara became a mom at he age of 14 and raised Ashton all by herself.
