Anupam Kher speech in JNU - Shift focus back from kranti (revolution) to desh bhakti (full video)

Friday saw two speeches at JNU as different as day and night which separated them.  Bollywood actor Anupam Kher was in campus to screen his movie Buddha stuck in a traffic jam. By the time he spoke, the news was that arrested JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya had received bail and that their supporters  were planning a march in celebration.  Kher said students who were charged with sedition and had got bail were not Olympic heroes to be welcomed.

Bollywood actor Anupam Kher was in campus to screen his movie Buddha stuck in a traffic jam. By the time he spoke, the news was that arrested JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya had received bail and that their supporters  were planning a march in celebration.

Kher said students, who were charged with sedition and had got bail, were not Olympic heroes to be welcomed.

In a short 10-minute speech, he said it had become fashionable to criticise the country and told the gathering that he wanted the focus shifted back from kranti (revolution) to desh bhakti (nationalism).

He took on those seeking azaadi from various problems asking what had they done personally to  address them. He also condemned the controversy on  "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and praised Modi as a good PM, India had got after a long time.
