The script to have legends Amitabh Bachchan and Shafkat Amanat Ali sing Indian and Pakistani national anthems before the T20 World Cup match at Eden Gardens did not play out well.
While Big B gave a graceful performance, Shafkat Amanat Ali was listless, off key and unforgivably messed up on the words, say Pakistani fans.
The popular Pak singer may have delivered many hits over his long career, his country's national anthem, ahead of the crucial Indo-Pak match was not one of them.
Furious Pak fans pounced upon him in despair. While Indians came as prepared as Amitabh Bachchan, Pak went as unprepared as Shafkat Amanat Ali, was the common complaint.
