Among the cricket grounds which roar for their home team, there is no match for Eden Gardens.
The cricket-crazy Bengali fan can go to the extent of stopping even World Cup matches if the home team is losing.
But on the Monday KKR Vs RCB match, the visiting team from Bangalore neatly matched the popularity of the home team, roar for roar.
The crowd lustily cheered every wicket gained by RCB and every four or six hit by them, much to the amazement of the die-hard KKR fans some of who saw it as betrayal.
The stadium was also splattered with RCB colours and jerseys.
So, what makes RCB so popular in Kolkata. As many pointed out, it was the personal popularity of Virat Kohli, A B De Villiers and Chris Gayle, three greatest entertainers of the game.
When they get going, you just stand up and cheer - does not matter who they play for.
