Popular singer Sonu Nigam hit the bylanes of Juhu in Mumbai recently, carrying a harmonium and disguised as an old man.
A widely known celebrity, Sonu Nigam was unrecognizable under thick layers of makeup.
He planted himself on a corner, tuned his harmonium and started belting out numbers.
Though initially, the busy Mumbaikars went about their business, his music was too soulful to be ignored for long. A crowd soon gathered around him to enjoy his music. Some gave money and one man called him uncle and asked if he had had breakfast.
Chritsiano Ronaldo had conducted a similar social experiment sometime ago kicking around the ball at a busy street corner in
Sonu Nigam did the act to capture the joyful impact music made on people.
Speaking to Filmfare, he said he had gone without any expectations, but came back humbled gratitude, grace and appreciation for what he had.
The harmonium he was carrying was the one his parents had bought when he was born.
