After a loud Hindu protest, Amazon has deleted an offensive doormat product printed with the image of Lord Ganesha.
If you click on the Ganesha doormat product link now, a 404 page shows up. But Amazon has not thought it necessary to apologise for offending product and give an assurance that such mistakes would not be repeated in the future.
As NewsCrunch had reported, Hindu users had began a strong protest on Saturday after the word spread that Amazon was selling a product that described itself as ‘Lord Ganesha Background Doormat…’.
The product, which was being sold for $18 on the US website of Amazon, had not been put on sale on its Indian edition.
