Jaipur's Aman Bansal has topped the IIT-JEE Advance exams of 2016. But there is some confusion on how much he scored to get the distinction with all kinds of numbers being thrown about.
His coaching school Allen Career Institute, is yet to make an announcement on the high marks scored by its star student.
The Times of India reports that Aman Bansal got 372 and adds that highest marks obtained in physics, chemistry and mathematics was 124 each.
There is an obvious mistake here as IIT-JEE Advanced students write three papers, physics, chemistry and maths, for 120 marks each, taking the grand total to 360. Even an impressively bright student like Aman Bansal could not have overshot it.
The Hindustan Times reports that Aman Bansal scored 320 marks to come on top in the JEE Advanced exams. It does not provide a breakup of his individual subject scores.
Even this number looks sky-high for an average student, but perhaps within the reach of toppers.
Explaining the secret of his success Aman Bansal says he studied regularly for five to six hours and believed in his abilities.
He advised that students should clear their doubts immediately during classes and focus on every topic.
Aman Bansal passed his class 12 exams from Jai Shri Periwal School in Jaipur’s Chitrakoot, scoring 96.2% marks this year.
Aman Bansal wants to pursue computer science from IIT Mumbai and said that
