Aditi Chauhan, the first Indian women’s team player to debut in an England competitive circuit, made a disastrous overseas debut on Sunday.

In her game for West Ham Ladies in an FA Women’s Premier League game, her team lost 0-5 to Coventry United.

Playing women's football in a cricket crazy country Aditi Chauhan has come far; she made it clear in the post-match interview that she would not let the defeat stop her.

“To play with better players in a better league will help me improve,” Chauhan said on the West Ham Ladies official Youtube channel.

Delhi girl, Aditi Chauhan, 22, had gone to UK to study for an MSc degree in sports management at Loughborough University in Leicestershire. West Ham Ladies, a third-tier London club, had signed her up for one year, reports The Hindustan Times.

Another Indian national team goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, who is 6 feet 5 inches, plays for Stabaek FC in Norway.
