An impoverished Kashmiri family, which made contact with Bollywood actor Salman Khan
during the shooting of his Bajrangi Bhaijaan, has claimed that the superstar has not kept up his promise to help them.
The Bangalore Mirror reports that the 75-year old Zaina Begum and her grandson Gowhar Ahmad Bhat now claim that since the release of the movie, the actor's staff have broken off contacts with them.
Salman's 'adoption' of Zaina Begum's family had been widelycovered by the media during the making of Bajrangi Bhaijan.
When she petitioned him seeking his help, recognizing how poor they were, Salman Khan promised Zaina Begum and her family a new house and help for her grandsons in Mumbai, presumably to seek employment.
Zaina Begum's eldest grandson, 18-year old Gowhar Ahmad Bhat, was even put to work on the sets of Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Zaina Begum and her family had come out strongly in support of the actor during his travails with the courts related to his hit-and-run case.
But they now claim that the star's promises haven't been met.
Salman's aides on the other hand have pointed out to the progress made in house construction, and say that they have been doing their bit to help the family; and that both, constructing a new house as well as finding employment for Gowhar , the lone male grandchild in the family, in the valley, takes time.
